The Catalysis Innovation Institute strive to generate a new collaborative model for the convergence of academic innovators with U.S. industrial partners (both established industry leaders, and emerging start-up companies).  For too long, the field of organic synthesis has been focused on individual efforts, missing the opportunities for beneficial collaborative engagement.  The extensive synergistic and collaborative network generated by the Institute will ensure that innovative academic basic research in organic synthesis will be rapidly applied and such activities will have a positive influence on energizing the chemical technological excellence of US pharmaceutical companies. In addition, the whole enterprise will be a tremendous learning experience for all involved and the generation of the future workforce of chemists required for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
